Introduction to X1C Machine With AMS:

What to Expect from the X1C 3D Printer
Experience a CoreXY machine with 20,000 mm/s² acceleration, up to 16-color printing, dual auto-bed leveling, 7 µm lidar accuracy, and advanced AI features including first-layer inspection and spaghetti-failure detection.

Supports Easy Removal and Advanced Materials
The Bambu Lab X1 uses snap-away or dissolvable supports for cleaner post-processing, while its advanced components and precise thermal control let you move beyond basic PLA and PETG to print more demanding materials with ease.

Advanced Thermal Engineering for High-Performance Materials
By moving beyond low-temperature, easy-print filaments like PLA and PETG, the X1 enables reliable printing of more demanding materials through a combination of advanced components and precise thermal control, including an all-metal hotend rated to 300 °C, a hardened steel nozzle at 50 HRC, a 120 °C heated bed, a controlled chamber temperature up to 60 °C, and a 12 W auxiliary part-cooling fan.

      Advanced Materials for Demanding Applications
Advanced projects are enabled by a wide range of engineering-grade materials, including super-rigid yet abrasive carbon fiber–reinforced PA (PA-CF), tough and self-lubricating but highly hygroscopic PA, highly temperature-resistant yet warp-prone PC, and the ability to combine multiple polymers within a single project to meet diverse functional requirements.

AI-Powered Evolution in Motion Control and Sensing
Chapter 2 introduces an AI-driven system built around Micro Lidar for precise measurement, an IMU for motion awareness, a 2 TOPS neural processing unit for real-time AI computation, and a quad-core ARM processor that coordinates sensing, control, and intelligent decision-making.

Dual-Sensor Automated Bed Leveling for Reliable First Layers
The Bambu Lab X1 achieves highly reliable bed leveling by combining Micro Lidar measurements with analog force sensors, using independent sensing systems and cross-checking algorithms to accurately determine nozzle-to-bed height and add an extra layer of redundancy for consistently successful prints.

AI-Inspected First Layer for Hands-Free Reliability
The Bambu Lab X1 uses its Micro Lidar sensor to automatically inspect the first layer during printing, identifying areas that are higher than the intended layer height (purple) or lower than the target height (orange), so issues can be detected early without requiring constant user monitoring.

Unified Project Management with Native 3MF Support
By adopting 3MF as its default format, the Bambu Lab X1 replaces the fragmented STL workflow by consolidating model data, print settings, assembly information, licensing details, and preview images into a single, natively supported file that can be managed together within one cloud-based project.

      Eco-Friendly Printing by Design
Designed with sustainability in mind, the system reduces carbon footprint by up to 80%, cuts plastic waste by 20%, operates at just 50 dB in silent mode, and uses an activated carbon filter to absorb VOCs for cleaner, safer printing.
      Multi-Color Printing Capability
Unlock advanced multi-color printing with the AMS combo, supporting up to 16 colors by stacking up to four AMS units.

      Automatic Filament Backup
The AMS automatically switches spools when filament runs out, ensuring uninterrupted printing even when you’re away, while reducing material waste and improving energy efficiency.

      Active Filament Drying & Monitoring
The AMS keeps filament dry with an airtight seal, desiccant moisture absorption, and a built-in humidity sensor that alerts users when humidity rises or desiccant replacement is needed to maintain optimal print quality.

      Automatic Filament Tangle Detection
The AMS detects abnormal resistance at the toolhead caused by tangled filament or a stuck spool and automatically pauses the print to prevent air printing and potential print failure.

Sync With Bambu Studio and Bambu Handy
Control and monitor your P1S remotely using Bambu Studio or the Bambu Handy app. The built-in camera lets you check print progress anytime and even record timelapse videos. Enjoy seamless connectivity and smarter printing from anywhere.

      Frequently asked questions:
Note: All answers are copied from Bambu Office website. They are from Bambu point of view

      1. Q: What is the recommended ambient temperature and humidity for the X1 series printer?
      1. A: The recommended ambient temperature of the P1 series printer is 10℃ - 30℃ (50°F - 86°F). The recommended humidity level is under 85%.

      2. Q: Is the heated chamber of the X1 series actively heated?
      2. A: No. The chamber temperature increases based on the temperature set for the heated bed and cannot be precisely controlled.

      3. Q: Is the filament buffer needed for single filament printing? (For X1 or P1 Series)
      3. A: When printing with a single spool of filament, the buffer is not needed, since the filament spool itself can be considered as a 'buffer'.

      4. Q: What kind of maintenance is expected for the X1/X1C?
      4. A: The X1/X1C doesn't need a lot of maintenance. Here's a link to a complete list of parts that can be consulted https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/maintenance

      5. Q: How to export the log file to a NEW support ticket?
      5. A: The process is described https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/troubleshooting/upload-log

      6. Q: How to export the log file to an EXISTING support ticket?
      6. A: The process is described https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/troubleshooting/update-log-to-a-ticket

      7. Q: Does the X1/X1C support thermal runaway protection?
      7. A: Yes. Both printers have thermal runaway protection enabled.

      8. Q: What is the function of the X1 Series's buttons on top?
      8. A: The left button is used to wake up the screen, and the second button is used to stop a print.

      9. Q: Are other slicers compatible with the X1/X1C?
      9. A: Yes, third-party slicers are supported, but they are not compatible with some functions of the printer like First Layer Inspection and AMS. We strongly recommend using Bambu Studio for the best print results.

      10. Q: Is the X1 slower than the X1C?
      10. A: Yes, the X1 is slower, mostly because of the cooling capabilities, and mostly for PLA. Printing fast requires good cooling and the X1C can do it with the integrated auxiliary fan. Upgrading the X1 with an auxiliary fan can improve printing speed.

      11. Q: Is it possible to add an additional auxiliary fan for better cooling to the X1C?
      11. A: The design of the printer is relatively compact, and there is not enough space to add a secondary auxiliary fan. The top glass cover can be opened to achieve better cooling.

      12. Q: Is the LED light needed for the AI stuff to work?
      12. A: es, vision inspection needs to be performed with LED light, but its accuracy is affected by factors such as ambient light, algorithm accuracy, sensitivity settings, etc., making it difficult to achieve 100% accurate identification. We will continue to improve the precision of our algorithms.
