Step 1: Unload Filament to the AMS
If filament is currently fed into the toolhead extruder, open the AMS page on the screen, select the active slot, and press Unload to return the filament to the AMS; if it’s already unloaded, you can skip this step.
Step 2: Disconnect the PTFE Tube and Load New Filament
Press the plastic coupler on the printer side to release and remove the PTFE tube, then follow the standard spool-holder loading procedure to feed the new filament into the system.
Step 3: Uncheck “Enable AMS” When Starting a New Print
With the updated firmware, you no longer need to unplug the AMS cable to print from the spool holder; simply uncheck the “Enable AMS” option when initiating a print, and the printer will use the filament loaded from the spool holder instead, while leaving the box checked will continue using the AMS.
Step 4: Unload and Disconnect the AMS
If filament is still in the toolhead, open the AMS page, select the active slot, and press Unload to return it to the AMS; if it’s already unloaded, proceed by unplugging the 4-pin AMS connector near the spool holder and disconnecting the PTFE tube from the printer by pressing the plastic coupler.
