Overview:
The Automatic Top Vent Kit is installed at the top of the printer's frame and is controlled by a motor to open and close the vent for airflow management.
Remove the automatic top vent
Step 1: Remove the front cover
Just remove the screen and front cover together. No need to remove the screen from the front cover.
Use an H1.5 Allen key to remove a fixing screw (BT2×12), then hold the buckle on the left side of the front cover with your hand, snap off the top left side of the front cover, and then snap open the top right side:
Then place your thumbs on the bottom of the front cover and push upwards to unlock the front cover card. Then hold the right side of the front cover to bend it slightly and pull the right side of the front cover out from under the right side panel.
Please pull it out carefully to avoid damaging the screen cable!
After pulling the right side of the front cover out of the printer, carefully flip the front cover from right to left to expose the interface between the screen and the screen cable, buckle the screen cable upwards to open the buckle, and then remove the screen cable from the buckle.
Step 2: Remove the automatic top vent
The automatic top vent is buckled on the upper frame by 4 buckles and connected to the motor through a swing rod.
You can first pry open the buckle on the far right with an Allen key, then use an Allen key to pry open the buckle on the far left, then remove the 2 middle buckles inwards one by one, and finally remove the buckle on the far right facing outwards.
If the swing rod is damaged during replacement, a spare swing rod can be used.
After removing the buckle, you can move the automatic top vent to the left to remove the swing rod from the automatic top vent.
Step 3: Remove the Vent Motor Base (Optional)
The vent motor base is the support bracket that secures the top automatic vent motor. If the base is damaged, deformed, or not securely installed, it may need to be replaced.
First, remove the motor protective cover from the top.
Remove the 3 fixing screws from the motor base: 1 on the top and 2 on the front.
Locate the 2 screws securing the motor to the base and remove them. Carefully separate the motor from the base, avoiding any strain on the connecting cables.
